Author Guidelines
The Proceedings of the Conference will be published in a printed version by the Springer Publishing House.
Paper Submission
Please login and submit your paper via EasyChair at www.easychair.org/conferences/. Contact Prof. Dr. Dimitris Karagiannis (ksem2009(at)dke.univie.ac.at) for help if required. The papers should be formatted according to LNCS specification and submitted as PDF files. Instructions and templates can be found at www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html
If the primary author of the paper is a student, authors should specify this in a footnote on the opening page, so that the paper can be considered for the best student paper award.
Papers must be no longer than 12 pages in the Springer style, including figures and references, when formatted using the specified style. Over length papers will be rejected. For Authors working with MS Word the template files can be downloaded here.
Policy on Multiple Submissions
KSEM2009 will not accept any paper which, at the time of submission, is under review for or has already been published or accepted for publication in a journal or another conference. Authors are also expected not to submit their papers elsewhere during the KSEM2009 review period. These restrictions apply only to journals and conferences, not to workshops and similar specialized presentations with a limited audience and no formal proceedings.
Review Process
The PC chairs will be in charge of supervising the review process of each paper. Three reviewers will review each paper. Selection criteria include accuracy and originality of ideas, clarity and significance of results and quality of the presentation. The decision of the PC Chairs will be final and cannot be appealed.
Paper Publication
Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Similarly to the previous years the KSEM 2009 proceedings will be published with Springer As LNAI. A selection of best papers will also be invited to submit extended and enhanced versions of the papers to a special issue of International Journal of Software and Informatics. Note that at least one author of each accepted paper is required to register and to attend the conference to present the work.
